This post won’t be the same as my future posts about locations. This is because Castaway Cay is my ultimate favorite place in the entire world. Part of the reason that I have feared creating a travel blog is because I feel that my words don’t do enough justice to these places and my feelings about them. My heart just fills up with love and fullness when I think of these places, but I know my words won’t accurately be able to describe the feelings I have for them. I have also decided that I am going to try to include a song at the end of each blog post that reminds me of these places or maybe even does a better job of describing them.

Castaway Cay is the definition of perfection for me. It is where island life meets luxury and reality. As you will come to learn… I’m obsessed with Disney (especially Disney Cruise Line) and this is their private island. The location of the island is absolutely stunning and beautiful and the amenities are virtually unlimited. This place is my home away from home. It holds so many precious and sacred family memories for me. Whether it was racing BucketHead Beaver the crab or watching Jacob steal the inner tubes from Schafer or eating lunch at Cookies One. I love rocking peacefully in the hammocks (after long arguments of who gets them first) and watching my mom fall asleep every time while she reads a book.

This place is so special because it allows so many families to be able to truly connect with each other and put the electronic devices down. Though it is a place of indulgence and serenity, I cannot spend too much time there because it will lose its value. I encourage everyone to visit Castaway Cay some time in their life and just pause their life for one day. Ignore any problems or issues you have and ‘Don’t worry, be happy!’ There is no problem that relaxation on island time can’t solve! Also no day at Castaway Cay is complete without continual loops of Bob Marley’s Legend album!

I am not sure where to begin this, but I’m Anna and I love this world. This blog is something that I have wanted to do for a while. I am finally starting to listen to my own advice and doing something that will make me happy. I have no idea if anyone will ever read this, but I want to do this for myself. I would love to look back when I am older or even show my kids the amazing world that I have seen. There is so much more to explore and see in this world, but I want to try to document as much as possible for my own sake. It is just such a healthy habit to remember how small we are in the scheme of things. Our problems are so minimal and are successes are all defined in so many different terms. I also feel that there are so many injustices and inequalities in this world and I want to highlight places that I have seen that made me more aware of this. I want to show the Earth in her natural beauty and remind myself that we must treasure her and take care of her. As a college student, it is very easy to fall into routines and lose sight of things that make you happy. I want to remind myself that I am so passionate about meeting different people, learning about different cultures and visiting different sites. I want my posts to focus on a place, but include history, culture, people, problems, and most importantly pictures. To finish this first post off here is a picture of me being genuinely happy.
